Edge Reset Options
Two reset options are provided for Eclipse Edge. Refer to:
• Software Reset for Edge
• Factory Reset for Edge
Software Reset for Edge
A software reset is equivalent to a power-down reboot (power off - pause - power on),
with one important difference; a copy of the Helpdesk Data File is automatically
saved to a default folder on your Portal PC at C:\Program Files\Portal\Reset Logs\.
For information on the software reset function, refer to
page
115.
Factory Reset for Edge
A factory reset is supported on the IDUspe using its IP Reset recessed front-panel
switch. The switch initially enables a temporary DHCP server, and after an extended
hold-down, the factory reset.
The reset sets the IDU back to factory defaults, which for the IDUspe are:
• IP address: 169.254.1.1
• Netmask:255.255.0.0
• DHCP:Enabled with an address range of 169.254.2.1 to 169.254.254.255 and a
netmask of 255.255.0.0
• Routes:No configured routes, RIP and OSPF disabled.
• Configuration:Any/all link or trib configuration parameters erased.
See IP Reset Function.
