Protected Operation for Edge

Eclipse Edge supports dual-ODU hot standby or space diversity link configurations
between IDUspe 16x terminals.
Where two ODUs are to be connected to a single antenna for hot-standby
configurations, a direct-mounting coupler is used. They are available for equal or
unequal loss operation. Equal loss is nominally 3.5/3.5 dB. Unequal is nominally 1.5/
6.5 dB.
• Protected links can only be configured between Edge IDUs.
• One IDUspe is used at each end of the link to connect to the main ODUspe and
standby ODUspe.
• The IDUspe incorporates duplicated modems and PoE injectors for maximum
reliability.
