Procedure
1. In the IP Addressing screen enter a single IP Address and Subnet mask for the Edge
terminal. This defines the Ethernet port address for the terminal, and the Link port
also assumes this address.

Static Routing Screen
Description
Static Routing selected.
User-defined fields for destination route, mask, interface, and next hop.
In this example the IDU is connected to three sites via its Link interface,
and these sites are all away from the NOC - a default gateway has been
used to define the routing towards the NOC via its Ethernet port. See
item 5.
Because a Link interface is always dedicated (the over-air connection is
only to the terminal at the far end), Eclipse NMS uses a proprietary link
protocol - a next hop entry is not required.
Because an Ethernet interface can be connected to many other Ethernet
interfaces, a next hop entry is required to define the terminal on the LAN
that is to act as the device through which traffic must be directed to get
to the destination terminals.
Shows a new (still to be defined) route line added.
Use these tabs to insert a new route, remove a route, or cut or copy a
route.
Click to enable a default getaway selection. (The default gateway is used
to define routing towards the NOC, meaning static routes need only to be
defined for IP addressable devices that point away from the NOC).
