DURING STORAGE
l Operate the engine and move the
machine for a short distance
once a month so that new oil film
will be coated over movable
parts and component surfaces.
l Before operating the work
equipment, wipe off the grease
on the hydraulic piston rod.

If it is unavoidably necessary
to carry out rust-preventive op-
eration while the machine is
indoors, open up doors and win-
dows to improve vetilation and
prevent the gas poisoning.
AFTER STORAGE
After storage (when it is kept
without cover or the rust-preventive
operation once a month is not
made), you shall apply the following
treatment before operation.
l Wipe off the grease on the hy-
draulic piston rod.
l Loosen the drain plugs on oil pan
and other cases and drain mixed
water.
l You should request Komatsu dis-
tributor for following service.
o Remove the cylinder head
cover and lubricate sufficiently
valves and rocker arms. And
inspect the valve operation.
o Remove the oil pipe flange on
the turbocharger oil inlet, fill
with 0.5 to 1 I! engine oil, and
leave
the
flange lightly
loosened. Then, rotate the
engine by the starting motor
without fuel injection and
decompression so that the dis-
charge of oil is confirmed.
Then, tighten the flange and
start the engine.
l After the engine is started, oper-
ate it until it is warmed up
completely.
