APS FUEL FILTER
Before using APS in cold weath-
er, replace
the
cartridge
(once
a
year).
1. Close the valve (1) at the front of
the APS fuel filter cartridge.
2. Using a filter wrench,
turn the
filter cartridge
(2) to the left to
remove.

Clean the filter base, and check
that the filter gasket is not stuck
to the filter base.
If the old gasket is stuck to the
filter base, oil will leak between
the new gasket and old gasket.
Fill the new filter cartridge with
fuel,
coat
the
packing
surface
with engine oil, and install.
When installing, be careful not to
overtighten.
When
the cartridge
comes in contact with the pack-
ing face, tighten l/2
to 314 of a
turn by hand.

When float (2) is at or above red
line (I 1, drain the water according to
the following procedure:
1. Loosen drain plug (3) and drain
the accumulated
water until the
float reaches the bottom.
2. Tighten drain plug (3).
3. If the air is sucked into fuel line
when drain the water, be sure to
bleed air in the same manner as
for the fuel filter.
