HANDLING
OF BATTERY
REMOVAL
AND INSTALLATION
OF BATTERY

When
removing
battery,
first
disconnect
the cable
with
the
black
tube
from
the
ground
(normally,
from
the
negative
(-)
terminal).
If a tool touches
a cable connecting
the positive
terminal
and the chassis,
there
is
danger
of
sparks
being
emitted.
When
installing
battery,
the
ground cable should be connect-
ed to the ground terminal as the
last step.
There is a total of four batteries
(two on each side) at the rear of
the machine, and a total of two
batteries at the ground end (one
on each side of the machine).
When
removing or installing the
batteries,
always
follow
the
above procedure for the batteries
on both sides.
STARTING
ENGINE WITH A
BOOSTER CABLE
When
starting
up the
engine
with
a
booster
cable,
do
as
follows:
1. Before
connecting
the
booster
cable

Size of booster cable and clip
should be suitable for the bat-
tery size.
Check
cables
and
clips for
breaks, corroded surfaces, etc.
Make sure cables and clips are
firmly secured.
Keep
the
starting
switch
in
"OFF" position.
The
battery
of
the
running
engine
must
be
the
same
capacity as that of engine to
be started.

Connect
the
booster
cables
in
the following manner.
I)
Connect
one clip of booster
cable A to the positive
(+I
terminal
of the engine to be
started.
2) Connect the other clip to the
positive
(+I
terminal
to the
engine which is running.
3) Connect
one clip of booster
cable B to the negative
(-1
terminal of the engine which is
running.
4) Connect the other clip to the
engine block to be started.
Make
sure the clips are firmly
connected
to battery
terminals.
Then, start the engine.
