EVERY 2000 HOURS SERVICE
i. ALTERNATOR AND STARTING
MOTOR
As the hours of engine employ-
ment indicate that the brushes are
already worn out, you should re-
quest repair from a Komatsu
distributor.
They should be repaired every
1000 hours, if the machine is fre-
quently operated at night.
ENGINE VALVE CLEARANCE
Ask Komatsu distributor to
check engine valve clearance be-
cause special tools should be used.
k. BRAKE DISC
Ask Komatsu distributor to
check and repair brake disc.
I. BUCKET HINGE PIN AND
BUCKET LINK PIN

After removing plugs (1) and (21,
refill gear oil (SAE140 GL-5)
from hole of plug (I) until new oil
comes out from grease fitting
inside.
Amount of refill oil:
Approx. 0.278
Install plugs (I 1 and (2).
After removing bucket pin, be
sure to refill with oil.
Never use grease in place of gear
oil.
When changing the oil in the hy-
draulic tank, drain the oil from the
tank and clean the strainer.
Loosen bolts (1) and (31, then
remove covers (2) and (4).
Loosen bolt (51, remove strainer
cover (61, then remove strainer
(8) together with spring (7).
Remove any dirt from strainer
(81, then wash in clean light oil or
flushing oil.
If strainer (8) is broken, replace it
with a new part.
