WHEN REQUIRED
Water filler
Drain valves (radiator, oil cooler)
Drain valve (cylinder block)
4. When the water reaches the
vicinity of the water filler, put the
engine at low idling, open drain
valves (31, (4) and (51, then pass
water for 10 minutes through
the cooling system until clean
water comes out from drain
valves (3), (4) and (5).
When doing this, adjust the
speed of filling and draining the
water so that the radiator is
always full.

When the water becomes com-
pletely clean, stop the engine,
draining off the cooling water,
and close drain valves (3), (4)
and (5).
After draining the water, clean
with a cleaning agent.
We recommend use of a
Komatsu genuine cleaning agent.
For details
of the cleaning
method, see the instructions
given with the cleaning agent.

After cleaning, drain all the cool-
ing water, then close the drain
valves (31, (4) and (51, and fill
slowly with soft water.
When the soft water comes up
to near the radiator water filler
port, start the engine, and run at
low idling. Add soft water, open
drain valves (3). (4) and (51, and
continue to run water until clean
colorless water comes out from
the drain valves (31, (4) and (5).
When doing this, adjust the
speed of filling and draining the
water so that the radiator is
always full.
