2.4 Service life
Based on ISO 10328, the prosthetic components were tested by the manu
facturer for 3 million load cycles. With mobility not involving sports activities,
this would correspond to a service life of 3 to 5 years in an everyday pros
thesis. A general service life for this prosthetic component as part of a sport
prosthesis cannot be determined, since strain varies widely depending on
the sport and intensity of use.
