Keeping the crank arm parallel to the back of the grain cart, raise the crank arm until it can lock into the crank retainer (Figure
40) It should take about 40 to 60 pounds of pressure to bring the crank arm into the crank retainer The crank arm should bend
about 1/8" It is also normal for the cover to make stretching noises as the crank arm is raised into the crank retainer
Opening Roll Top Cover
Remove the crank handle from the crank retainer and hold away from the grain cart body at about a 45° angle (Figure 41)
Hold the crank handle firmly with both hands and roll the cover until it rests on the cover stop (Figure 42)
Bring the crank arm perpendicular to the ground and parallel to the back of the grain cart to lock the crank arm and cover shaft
(Figure 43)
Keeping the crank arm parallel to the back of the grain cart, raise the crank arm until it can lock into the crank retainer (Figure
44)
