Operation
WARNING
Risk when using device with other warming therapy devices
The phototherapy light can impact the patient temperature or the heat supply of
incubators, radiant warmers, or devices supplying heat via heated blankets, pads,
or mattresses. Take special precautions when using the phototherapy light in
combination with such devices.
► Carefully monitor the temperature of the patient.
► Use the baby controlled mode of operation if available on the warming therapy
device.
► Adjust the air temperature in incubators or the heat output of radiant warmers as
needed according to patient temperature.
WARNING
Risk to other patients or to the operator
Phototherapy radiation may affect other patients or the operator if proper
precautions are not taken. Follow established hospital protocol.
► Protect nearby patients by using screens and protective eye shields.
► The operator may experience some photo effects during prolonged exposure to
the area irradiated by the phototherapy light. Take note of any effects and take
proper precautions.
► Avert eyes from blue lights in the phototherapy light to prevent effects such as
eye irritation, headache, and nausea.
