on page 1-3 for the location of the safety cable tab.
Secure the tow cable jumper with cable ties to the top of the towfish.

If possible, it is best to keep the tow cable connected to the towfish while on deck.
If the tow cable is disconnected, however, it is very important that the connectors
be properly maintained. Connectors must be kept clean and must remain out of the
way of traffic while on deck.

To disconnect the tow cable:
Verify that the TPU or the SP-III TPU is switched off and that its power cord

is disconnected.
Disconnect the safety cable from the loop of the Kellems grip.

Grasp the body of each connector at the towfish and gently pull them apart.

Do not pull on the cables to separate the connectors. Always hold the body of
the connectors. After separating the connectors, put a thin coating of silicone
grease on the rubber section of the connector pins and install dummy plugs.
Disengage the shackle from the tow bracket and remove any cable ties

securing the tow cable to the tow bracket.

Topside System Connections
All of the topside system components connect together using the supplied cables.
User supplied cables are required for connecting to a GPS and to other equipment.

All the connections to the TPU are made to connectors on the back panel which is
shown in Figure 3-2.

WARNING Before disconnecting the tow cable, verify that the TPU or the
SP-III TPU is turned off and that its power cord is disconnected. Failure to
follow this practice may result in personal injury or damage to the towfish
