6 Ultrasound Therapy

Apply some ultrasound gel on the area of treatment.

Choose SONO in the Display <1> .

Select the duration of the treatment.

Increase the dose to the desired value with the Data Selector <2>.

To prevent from overdoses, ultrasound emission is switched from continuous to pulsed
mode with duty cycle 2:5 when a previously set threshold is exceeded (refer to

For safety reasons, the following optional settings (basic settings) can be selected: The
ultrasound dose can only be increased after connection to ultrasound if the dose has
previously been set to zero.

Select the treatment mode.

Select the treatment frequency.

Place the ultrasound transducer on the area to be treated. If coupling is sufficient, therapy time will
begin to elapse. Check that the coupling control is active by briefly lifting the transducer from the
treatment area.
After the treatment time has elapsed, the timer will automatically switch off.
Important
Make sure you constantly keep moving the transducer on the skin of the patient
(dynamic treatment)! Avoid using the transducer at one spot for a longer time (static
treatment); this form of treatment might lead to damages on the patient's tissue! Make
sure that the ultrasound transducer never gets too hot (especially the oscillator unit

on page 66). The default for this threshold is 2 W/cm
