The existing manual and semi automated IP route configuration
methods of the AST570 DSL router will be extended with RIPv1
and RIPv2. Routing Information Protocol (RIP) provides automatic
route table construction and maintenance. In this way RIP learns
the network topology to find optimal routes or select alternative
routes in case of network failures.
