Preconditions:
"
Make sure your AST570 is turned on and finished its Power
On Self Test (POST).
The (portable) PCs, intended to be connected to the AST570,
must have a WLAN adapter readily installed and should be
configured as DHCP client or configured with a fixed Net10"
IP address.
Joining the AST570 WLAN network
"
Some WLAN adapters are able to detect the presence of the
AST570 Wireless network. For others you have to preset the
SSID.
When first using the AST570:
1.
On the WLAN adapter configure the
ID (SSID)
marking label, found on the bottom of the AST570.
This default SSID exists of the word Alcatel" followed by
(directly concatenated) the 6 last characters of the
AST570 WLAN access point MAC address.
2.
To register the WLAN client, push the 'Association' button
on the AST570' back panel while the WLAN adapter tries
to join the AST570 WLAN network.
3.
Repeat this procedure for each (portable) PC you want to
associate the AST570 WLAN network.
See chapter 4 for more information.
There is no difference between wired and wireless LAN
connections for the AST570, i.e. all network configurations are
equally valid for both.
Therefore, both are referred to as (W)LAN.
