36 Suction control lever
The suction power control is continuously adjustable through the suction
control lever.
In position "O", suction is interrupted between the blade and the suction
device (no fluid drainage via the blade).
In position "I", suction is effective at full power according to the setting.
Note
The blade can get blocked at low suction power. This can be remedied by
setting the device to full suction power for a short period.
Adjust suction control lever 36 to the required suction power.

Risk of injury and damage due to long Kirschner wires!
Use a sleeve when working with long Kirschner wires.
WARNING
Notes
The pistol handpiece can be locked against inadvertent actuation by gently
pressing and turning the upper trigger by 90°.
The pistol handpiece cannot be used with a foot control.
Working with an attached saw handpiece is only possible in the standard
operating mode.
The instruction menu allows changing motor type-specific settings (slow-
down and speed-up ramps, selection of oscillating or tapping mode), see
chapter Instruction menu.
The motor can only operated if:
• any motor connected to the other motor connection socket is inactive.
The following settings cannot be changed while motor 32 is running:
• Motor speed range upper limit
• Operating mode
All settings will be saved on exit from the settings mode.
Pistol handpiece GD684 supports two operating modes:
• Standard operating mode
• Oscillating or tapping mode
Changing the settings in the Device settings menu on the control unit
Note
The setting range and the step width for the speed range upper limit depend
on the selected operating mode, see chapter Technical specifications.
The speed range upper limit can be changed only in the standard operating
mode and only through the control unit.
The coolant pump can be activated, and the delivery rate can only be
changed, via the control unit.
Selecting the motor speed range upper limit
Note
The motor speed range upper limit can only be selected in the standard
operating mode.
The set motor speed range upper limit is indicated in the respective motor
control field in display 2 and can be adjusted via the touch control keys.
To increase the motor speed range upper limit: press key to increase the
motor speed range upper limit.
To reduce the motor speed range upper limit: press key to reduce the
motor speed range upper limit.
