VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER A N D
RATING PLATE
A combination vehicle identification number and rating
plate used on all models (fig. 1) is located on the door
pillar, except on School Bus, Flat Face Cowl, and some
Forward Control models (motor home). On School Bus
and Flat Face Cowl models the plate is attached to the
air intake plenum panel. On Forward Control models
(P10, P20, P30 except P30 Motor Home Chassis) it is
attached to the dash and toe panel.
A typical vehicle identification number will decode
as follows:
