with its bearing, allow it to extend into position.
2. Attach valve return spring and nylon bushing.
3. Assemble the connecting shaft to the valve and
actuating diaphragm.
4. Replace the cowl grille panel.
ROOF MOUNTED SYSTEM
COMPRESSOR, CONDENSER, RECEIVER-
DEHYDRATOR A N D /O R SIGHT GLASS

CONTROL SWITCH A N D /O R FRONT DUCT
Removal (Fig. 46)
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Pull the control knob off the switch shaft.
3. Remove the retaining clips in the forward edge of the
front air duct, squeeze the sides of the duct together
to remove the duct from the front roof cover and
lower the duct enough to remove the switch connec­
tors.
4. Remove the switch connectors from the switch.
5. Remove the two switch mounting screws and remove
the switch assembly.
Installation
1. Install the switch connectors to the switch assembly
as noted in Figure 47.
2. Place the switch in position (connectors pointed

When the rear pin is aligned
toward the duct) and install the switch mounting
screws.
3. Install the air duct and switch assembly into position,
making sure that the duct flange is fully installed in
the roof cover retaining flange.
Be careful not to damage' the retaining
