4.4.17 Replacing an Intelligent Battery Detector
Prerequisites
Context
You need only to disconnect the power cable from the intelligent battery detector rather than
disconnecting the AC input.
Procedure
Step 1 Connect the ground cable for the ESD wrist strap, and put on the ESD wrist strap and ESD
gloves.
Step 2 Switch off the circuit breaker of the intelligent battery detector on the DC PDU.
Step 3 Remove the protective cover from the intelligent battery detector, as shown in Figure 4-31.

Step 4 Record the cable positions and then disconnect them from the intelligent battery detector.

Step 5 Remove the intelligent battery detector. Unscrew the intelligent battery detector, as shown in
Figure 4-32.

You have obtained an ESD wrist strap, a pair of ESD gloves, an ESD box or bag, the
cabinet door key, and tools.
Check that the new intelligent battery detector is intact.
Disconnect the power cables from the intelligent battery detector (pull out the wiring
terminals directly).
Disconnect the battery voltage detection cable and the communications cable (pull out
the wiring terminals directly).
Disconnect the ground cable of the intelligent battery detector.
