Chapter 14. Testing a clustered system

About this task
After using ptconfig to successfully configure both nodes in the cluster, do the
following:
v Perform the system health check
v Run the system verification tests
Note:
v The system verification tests perform checks on the Red Hat cluster, including
v In a replication environment, the procedures in this chapter should be performed

About this task
The RAS System Health Monitoring option verifies the status of the installed
servers and disk storage components.

1. If you are not already connected and logged into Server A, do the following:
a. Connect a USB keyboard and graphics-capable monitor to Server A.
b. At the command prompt, log in to Server A with the username root and
password admin.
2. At the command line type: rasMenu <enter>
3. Enter the number that corresponds to the System Health Monitoring option,
then press <enter>.
4. Enter the number that corresponds to the Verify storage and server
installation option, then press <enter>.
A series of messages display, reporting the system health states. For example:
Begin Procedure: Verify storage and server installation
System health state: OK
Disk Array Health State is OK
Server Health State is OK
Adapters Health State is OK
LocalFS Health State is OK
5. If any health state returns a status of DEGRADED or FAILED, run the applicable
individual health check selection to further diagnose the root cause of the
problem. If the root cause cannot be determined, contact your next level of
support.
6. If all health states return a status of OK, exit the RAS menu.
7. Log out of the server.
