Stand-alone gateway installation checklist

About this task
The checklist below outlines the tasks required to successfully install the hardware
in a stand-alone gateway configuration. If you are installing a clustered gateway,
use the "Clustered gateway installation checklist" on page 18.
Important:
This document references IBM DS4700 disk controllers (1814 70H) and IBM EXP810
disk expansion modules (1812 81H) in many of the hardware installation figures,
examples, and procedures.
In addition to the IBM DS4700 disk controller, the TS7650G also supports the
DS5000 disk controller and the XIV disk controller. If the customer has elected to
use disk storage components other than the IBM DS4700 disk controllers (1814
70H) mentioned above, the figures, examples, and procedures in this document
will not apply to the configuration on which you are working. Therefore, it is
suggested that you determine the make and model of the disk storage components
in use and, if necessary, obtain the related product documentation before you begin
installation of the gateway.
The RAS code no longer sends call home packages for problems with any of the
disk storage products attached to the gateway including DS4700, DS5000, and XIV.
