A. Turn the keyswitch to the OFF position.
B. Remove the two wires from the P20:11 set speed
control continue or accelerate switch. Use a
suitable jumper in order to join the two wires
together.
C. Turn the keyswitch to the ON position.
D. Monitor the status screen on the electronic service
tool. Slowly connect and disconnect the jumper
from the P20:11.
E. Repeat this procedure for each of the following
"machine interface connections":
•
P20:19 Set Speed Control 1 or Speed 2
•
P20:20 Set Speed Control Speed or Decelerate
•
P20:28 Set Speed Control ON or OFF
•
P20:29 Set Speed Control Kickout Switch
•
P20:37 Switch Return
Expected Result:
When the jumper wire is connected the status of the
set speed switch should be "CLOSED".
When the jumper wire is disconnected the status of
the set speed switch should be "OPEN".
Results:
•
OK – The switch is faulty.
Repair: Replace the switch and verify that the
repair has eliminated the problem.
STOP.
•
Not OK – There is a problem with the wiring
harness between the set speed control switch and
the engine ECM. Proceed to Test Step 5.
