2. Open the printer's back cover. The press
roller
is located behind
the spring-loaded metal paper guide. While holding down the
paper guide, clean the press roller with a soft cloth moistened
with alcohol.

3. Close the back and top covers.
Replacing the Drum, Drum Charger,
and Paper Charger
The drum must be replaced every 9,000 to 10,000
pages.
At the same
time, you must replace the drum and paper chargers. A good rule is
to replace the drum every third time you replace the toner (3,000
pages x 3). The drum page counter inside the printer tells you when
it's time to replace the drum. Your Atari retailer carries the drum
replacement kit, which includes a new drum, drum charger, and
paper charger.
The Drum Page Counter
Inside the printer, at the front and to the left, is the drum page
counter. The yellow dot turns to a yellow box at 9,000 pages. The red
dot turns to a red box at 10,000 pages. Beyond that, the counter
begins to tick off red numerals (2, 3, 4, and so on). Never allow the
counter to get this far. Replace the drum when the red dot turns to a
red box or before.
