front panel.

This indicator lights up whenever power to the printer is switched
on.
Busy
This indicator lights up whenever your ST Computer is sending
data to the printer.
Ready to Print: Running the Test Program
Before you begin any print session, you should run the test
program you received on disk. To run the test program
,
follow
these steps:
1. Be sure that the printer and controller are connected properly,
that the power cord to the printer is securely connected, and
that there is paper in the paper
cassette.
2. Switch on all components of your computer system
,
including
the printer. Always switch on the computer last. Wait two
minutes for the printer to warm up. Once the Ready indicator
lights up, the printer has warmed up and is ready to print.
3. Insert the SLM804 software disk into drive A. With the GEM™
desktop displayed, obtain a directory window of the SLM804
disk.
4. Double-click on the file TEST.PRG. The disk drive will
whir,
and
th
e printer will begin to work. Soon the SLM804 test pattern will
emerge from the top of the printer. Now you're ready to print.
