Locate the drum control at the back of
the
printer. Set the control
to A, B, or C according to the label on the right side of the drum
unit. (Ignore the density control for now.)

Close the printer's top cover.

Note:
The drum must be replaced every 9,000 to 10,000 pages. A
good rule is to replace the drum every third time you replace the
toner. The drum page counter inside the printer will tell you when
it's time to replace the drum. For more information, see
Chapter 3,
Regular Maintenance.
The Drum Page Counter
The drum must be replaced every 9,000 to 10,000 pages. Inside
the printer, at the front and to the left, is the drum page counter.
The drum page counter tells you when it's
time
to replace the
drum. Open the printer, and take a look at
the
counter.
