Sensica™ UO System for ICU Instructions for Use, Model No. SCCS-1001, ver. 1001
16.3 Sudden Increase Alert Setting
Note: It is recommended to leave this setting in the default selection. This alert will occur if there is
a something (such as an object) putting weight on the urine collection bag, which will confound the
ability of the system to accurately measure urine output.
The default setting is greater than 70ml output under 2 seconds. This will not occur naturally and is
an erroneous reading.
16.4 Bag Full Alert Setting
Select a level of bag filling to alert the operator that the bag will need to be emptied soon. The
default selection is 75% full, which in a 2,000ml bag would be 1,500ml of urine. Selections are 50,
60, 70, 75, 80 and 90 percent.
16.5 Catheter Time Reminder Setting
This selection activates an indicator in the lower right hand section of the standard monitor display
screen that shows how long the indwelling catheter has been in place, since the bag collection
system was first connected to the Sensica UO stand (in Days and Hours). This information can be
used to assist in following facility CAUTI guidelines regarding awareness of indwelling catheter
placement time. If the catheter is changed during the patient monitoring session, this time can be
reset if desired using the "Actions" button.
The default selection is "ON." To deactivate the Catheter Time Reminder, touch the window to
select "OFF."
16.5 Require Operator PIN Setting
This selection activates the need for the operator to enter a PIN to do the following functions:
1) Create a new patient from the New Patient and Settings Selection Screen;
2) Access the "Alerts Settings Screen" from the Actions drop down selection on the standard
viewing screen (See Chapter 8); and
3) Clear alerts and warnings when they appear on the display screen.
The default selection is "OFF." To activate the operator PIN requirement, touch the window to select
"ON." To change the operator PIN from the factory default to a unique 4-digit number, see Facility
Preference Settings (Chapter 15.9).
