6.2.3 Scan Barcode Option
To use a barcode scanner for entering patient data, touch the "Barcode Scan Option" button on the
New Patient Entry Screen. (See Figure 19.) The "Use Barcode Scanner" screen will appear. Once
the patient's barcode is scanned successfully, the screen will return to the New Patient Entry
Screen with the relevant information automatically entered into the data fields.
Note: In order to use this feature, the Administrator must first enter the appropriate bar code
settings as part of the initial system setup, see Barcode Settings Setup (Chapter 17).
