1.4 Automatic Data Transmission to EHR
The built-in Sensica™ UO System for ICU Relay Software allows for automatic, wireless
transmission of urine output data to an electronic health records (EHR) system using a certified HL7
protocol with a standard WiFi connection. (Adaptec Technical Support is available to work with a
facility's IT staff to configure the data transmission for specific EHR software.
The Sensica UO System for ICU administrator will need to set up the communications link for
appropriate transmission of UO data to the EHR. (See Chapter 18.)

Note: It is possible to transfer urine output data electronically from the Sensica™ UO System for
ICU to a facility's EHR system through middleware products, using the serial port connection
located at back of the system base. This requires additional software. Please contact your
Sensica™ UO System representative for more information.
