Sensica™ UO System for ICU Instructions for Use, Model No. SCCS-1001, ver. 1001

6.2.1 Entering Patient Weight for AKI Diagnostic Data Information (optional)

In order to generate AKI data (urine output ml/kg/hr), the patient weight must be entered. For more
information on the AKI data feature, refer to 1.2.5 AKI Diagnostic Data Feature Option.
Touch the "AKI Patient Weight" to bring up a screen for entering the patient's weight. The
measurement system defaults to kilograms. To enter the weight in pounds, touch the kilogram
window, and the unit measure will change to pounds. Use the up and down arrows to enter weight.
Patient weight can also be entered or changed while the system is monitoring urine output through
the "Action" button (Chapter 8) or on the Data Screens (Chapter 10).

6.2.2 Entering Patient Urine Specific Gravity (optional)

For the most accurate urine volume recording for all types of patients, the default specific gravity in
the Sensica™ UO System for ICU is 1.015. To change the specific gravity based on a patient's
current urinalysis, touch the Specific Gravity button. This will bring up a screen for entering the
specific gravity in a range from 1.000 to 1.060. Use the up and down arrows to enter the
appropriate number, then touch the "Enter and Save" button.
Specific Gravity can also be entered or changed while the system is monitoring urine output through
the "Action" button (Chapter 8).
Note: It has been shown that changes in urine specific gravity do not significantly alter hourly AKI
diagnostic calculations (low volume of urine). For more information, please contact Adaptec
Customer Service.
