6.3 Session Start Up: Attaching Single Patient Use Ring and Tube Band

After entering the desired patient demographic data, a two-step "Session Start Up Wizard" will
appear with instructions on using the Sensica UO System single patient use products. Each
Sensica™ UO Patient Kit, Part No. SSPK-1001, contains two items: 1) Sensica UO Collection Bag
Ring, and 2) Sensica UO Tube Band with Measuring Strip.
Note: If a used ring is attached to the stand, remove it and discard before starting a new patient.
6.3.1 STEP ONE: Attaching Sensica™ UO Collection Bag Ring
Turn the ring upside down and use a clockwise motion to twist and "lock" the ring onto the ring
interface. Once the ring is fully attached, touch "Next." This will activate a calibration process to
ensure accurate calculations of urine output volume. DO NOT hang a bag on the ring during this
process.

6.3.2 STEP TWO: Attaching Sensica™ UO Band and Hanging Bag
The Sensica UO Tube Holder provides stability for the drainage tube and bag, ensuring precise
accuracy of UO measurement. Once attached to the drainage bag tubing, the Sensica UO Tube
Band must be inserted into the "window" of the tube holder for the system to function. A perforated
measuring strip is provided with the band for assisting in correct placement of the band on the
drainage tube.
After catheterizing patient, make note of the initial urine, if desired. Attach the Sensica UO tube
band to the drainage tubing as described in 6.3.2.1. Then hang the bag on the Sensica UO ring.
Next, align the tube band with the tube holder window and insert the tubing into the tube holder
(closest to the patient's head). Make sure the tubing is fully and securely inserted into the tube
holder. Touch "Finish" to begin monitoring urine output.

STEP ONE
1. Turn ring upside down, and
attach to the system stand.
2. Twist clockwise until ring is right
side up, and locks into place.
Do not hang the urine collection
bag at this time.
