LIN : Local Interconnect Network - neoVI
Main
A pplies to
neoVI Blue, neoVI Red, neoVI FIRE, and neoVI
neoVI supports com m unication on LIN (Local Interconnect Network ).
O nce detecting a proper Sync Break and Sync field, the neoVI will wait for the Msg Identifier field. The m essage reception will begin with the Msg ID field. The neoVI will receive the entire m essage according to the LIN spec.
After receiving the m essage error free, the neoVI will send the received m essage to the host starting with the Msg ID field.
If there are any errors neoVI will report the errors back to the host. Table 1 below lists the errors check ed for by the neoVI device.
neoVI supports acting as a m onitor, m aster, and slave.
Enabling LIN is done in the Hardware Ex plorer. For neoVI Blue LIN is enabled under the ISO 9141/KWord 2K/UART/LIN options. Set the Mode to "LIN Mode" and the "Rx Transceiver" to LIN. Also m ak e sure the baud rate is
correct for your network (Figure 1).
To Enable LIN on a neoVI FIRE, neoVI Red, and neoVI
Error
ISO _LIN_SYNC_BRK_ERR
ISO _LIN_SYNC_LEN_ERR
ISO _LIN_SYNC_W AV_ERR
ISO _LIN_MSG_ID_PRTY

is done in Hardware Ex plorer by Selecting the channel under network Enables and then setting the proper baud rate for that LIN channel (Figure 2)
