(6) Hold t h e adjusting screw i n place and t i g h t e n

t h e locknut t o 34 N n n (25 ft-lbs) torque.

(7) Position a new gasket on the o i l p a n and i n s t a l l

t h e pan on t h e transmission. T i g h t e n the pan bolts to

17 N n n (150 in-lbs) torque.

(8) Lower t h e vehicle a n d r e f i l l t h e transmission

w i t h Mopar A T F Plus, type 7176, or Dexron II™

VALVE BODY CONTROL PRESSURE

There are t w o control pressure adjustments on t h e

valve body w h i c h are: L i n e pressure a n d t h r o t t l e

Because line and t h r o t t l e pressures are interdepen-

dent (each affects the shift q u a l i t y and t i m i n g ) , both

adjustments m u s t be performed properly and i n t h e

correct sequence, t h e line pressure adjustment first,

the t h r o t t l e pressure adjustment last.
