Operation
Manual Run

Set the run parameters. (See Speed, Time,
Radius)
a. Select the setting. The parameter setting screen opens.
b. Use the keypad to enter a new setting.

Check that all parameters are correct. Ensure the door is properly latched, and press

Wait for the time to count down to zero, or end the run by pressing
NOTE
(To end a run for any reason, do not turn the power switch off; press STOP

When the rotor stops, a tone sounds. Select

Speed

Enter a run speed, up to the maximum speed of the rotor in use. Or enter a relative centrifugal field
(RCF) value, up to the maximum achievable RCF of the rotor (see also Radius).
NOTE
The maximum speed (and RCF) of the JS-4.750 rotor varies by instrument and model.
J-15R Refrigerated Centrifuge:
J-15 Ventilated Centrifuge
Set rotor speed using RPM values; or enter Rmax values, then enter the RCF.

When using multiwell-plate carriers on the JS-4.750 rotor, limit rotor speed to 4450 RPM when
running up to three stacked Beckman Coulter plates separated by cap strips. Reduce speed to
2700 RPM if running four stacked plates.
J-15R 120 VAC: When using the tube and bottle buckets, maximum speed is 4550 RPM.
When using multiwell-plate carriers on the JS-4.750 rotor, limit rotor speed to 4350 RPM when
