Drive unit

4.9.1

Replacing the drive wheels

INFORMATION
When replacing the wheels, check the tyres on both sides for even and sufficient tread. Replace the tyres if ne-
cessary.
f Prerequisites:
Optional: Move the seat to the lowest seat height (see Seite 12).
Switch off the control unit and deactivate the main fuse (see Seite 12).
If necessary: Remove the legrests.
Jack up the wheelchair (see Seite 11).
f Tools: Allen wrench size 6; torque wrench with Allen insert size 6
Removing the drive wheel
1) Loosen and remove the 5 screws on the drive wheel (see Fig. 40, item 1).
2) Remove the drive wheel from the drive flange.
3) If necessary: Change the tyre (see Seite 41).
Installing the drive wheel
1) Place the drive wheel on the drive flange.
2) Insert the 5 screws into the drive wheel and firmly tighten them to 25 Nm in a crosswise sequence (see Fig. 40,
item 1).

Replacing the drive wheel splash guard

f Prerequisites:
Optional: Move the seat to the lowest seat height (see Seite 12).
Switch off the control unit and deactivate the main fuse (see Seite 12).
If necessary: Remove the legrests.
Jack up the wheelchair (see Seite 11).
f Tools: Allen wrench size 6; torque wrench with Allen insert size 6
Removing the drive wheel splash guard
1) Remove the drive wheel (see Seite 27).
2) Loosen and remove the 2 upper screws on the drive motor (see Fig. 41, item 1).
3) Remove the drive wheel splash guard (see Fig. 41, item 2).
4) Optional: Remove the control panel for the caster wheel swivel lock from the splash guard (see Fig. 41, item 3;
see Seite 36).
Installing the drive wheel splash guard
1) Optional: Attach the control panel for the caster wheel swivel lock to the splash guard (see Fig. 41, item 3; see
Seite 36).
2) Place the drive wheel splash guard on the drive wheel swing arm (see Fig. 41, item 2).
3) Insert the 2 upper screws in the drive motor and firmly tighten them to 25 Nm (see Fig. 41, item 1).
