Adjusting the springs
1) Turn the adjustment element (see Fig. 77/78, item 1):
J Turning to the right (clockwise): increases spring tension.
J Turning to the left (counterclockwise): decreases spring tension.

Curb climbing assist and transport brackets

4.13.1

Replacing the curb climbing assist

f Prerequisites:
Optional: Move the seat to the lowest seat height (see Seite 12).
Switch off the control unit and deactivate the main fuse (see Seite 12).
If necessary: Remove the legrests.
Jack up the wheelchair (see Seite 11).
f Tools: Allen wrench size 5, 6; torque wrench with Allen insert size 5, 6; socket wrench extension
Removing the curb climbing assist
1) Remove both caster wheels (see Seite 33).
2) Remove both suspensions / rigid elements and lower the caster wheel swing arms (see Seite 39 ff.).
3) Loosen and remove the 4 screws between the curb climbing assist and adapter plate with 1 washer each (see
Fig. 79, item 1).
4) Pull the curb climbing assist forwards and remove it (see Fig. 79, item 2).
5) If necessary: Pull the adapter plate of the curb climbing assist backward and remove it (see Fig. 79, item 3).
INFORMATION: When rigid elements are used, the adapter plate is already loosened. When using sus-
pensions on the caster wheel swing arm, loosen and remove the front screw between the mobility base
and adapter plate (see Fig. 79, item 4).
Installing the curb climbing assist
1) If necessary: Insert the adapter plate of the curb climbing assist on the mobility base from the rear (see Fig. 79,
item 3).
INFORMATION: When using suspensions on the caster wheel swing arm, insert the front screw between
the mobility base and adapter plate and firmly tighten it (see Fig. 79, item 4). When using rigid elements,
the adapter plate is screwed on together with the rigid elements.
2) Set the curb climbing assist onto the adapter plate from the front (see Fig. 79, item 2).
3) Insert the 4 screws between the curb climbing assist and adapter plate with 1 washer each and firmly tighten
them (see Fig. 79, item 1).
4) Swivel the caster wheel swing arms upwards and install both suspensions/rigid elements (see Seite 39 ff.).
5) Attach both caster wheels (see Seite 33).
