Use the F3 and F4 keys to move backward and forward through the patient
data windows.

Entering Patient Information with a
Barcode Reader
Using a barcode reader can simplify the entry of patient information and reduce
the chance of introducing errors. When you scan a patient's barcode, it retrieves
the patient information encoded in the barcode. You can then verify or modify the
information as appropriate.
To use the barcode reader, it must be connected to the USB port on the device's rear
panel and properly configured. Refer to
on setting up the optional barcode reader.

When the Scan the Patient Barcode prompt appears on the screen, scan the
patient's barcode.
The following message is displayed on the screen and the barcode reader
beeps: Please wait. The first Patient Data window opens with the data from the
patient's barcode entered in the appropriate fields.

Confirm that the data entered from the patient's barcode is accurate.

Enter or modify patient information as necessary.

After verifying that the patient information is correct, press the F6 key to save
the patient data.
