Determine the p ositions of the media holders, and then secure them in p lace.

A
Determine the lef t and right p ositions of the media with the grit p atterns used as the ref erence.
Note the following points when determining the positions.
• P ush the media holders f rom the outside and move the media.
• Ensure that both edges of the media are p ositioned so that they are within the range
of the grit p atterns.
• Ensure that the lef t edge of the media is p ositioned so that it is within the range of
the grit p attern of the lef t edge.
• Ensure that the edge of the media is not within the range of 2 0 mm (0 .7 9 in.) to the right
of the grit p attern of the lef t edge or 2 0 mm (0 .7 9 in.) to the lef t of other grit p atterns.

Important: Decide the left and right side positions of the media finally at this step.
After this procedure is completed, if the left and right side positions do not t the proper positions when securing the
media with pinch rollers, you will have to go back to this step to redo this procedure. If you just hold the media to readjust
its position forcibly, the media will be skewed during printing, which will have an adverse e ect on the printing results.
Do not hold p laces other than those instructed. Do not move the media
by holding it directly .
