Chapter 7 – Configuration
T1000, S2020 and S2024G switches hardware does not support One-step mode operation. Thus, 2 Step flag configuration does
not take effect.
REASON SWITCHES-TM-EN-3
Clock Identity: indicates clock identifier, to be used in BMC
o
algorithm when switch is in boundary mode;
One Way: enable one-way operation in delay calculation process,
o
only used if Slave Only Device type is the actual instance. If one
way is used, there is no path delay calculation done by this
instance. This function is only used if frequency synchronization is
needed. Values allowed are True and False. If true, instance will
enable one way operation. If false, switch will disable one way
operation;
Protocol: select protocol to be used by the instance. Possible
o
values are as follows:
Ethernet: PTP messages at this instance are mapped
directly at the Ethernet frame, that is, synchronization is
done in layer 2 communication environments. PTP
Grandmaster clock multicasts PTP messages throughout
the network to slave clocks, that is, communication
mechanism used by PTP messages is Multicast. This is the
protocol recommended to be used in power system
installations;
EthernetMixed: PTP messages at this instance are
mapped directly at the Ethernet frame, that is,
synchronization is done in layer 2 communication
environments. PTP messages in the network are received
as unicast and multicast messages;
IPv4Multi: PTP messages at this instance are mapped at
the IP frame, that is, synchronization is done in layer 3
communication environments. PTP Grandmaster clock
multicasts PTP messages throughout the network to slave
clocks, that is, communication mechanism used by PTP
messages is Multicast over UDP;
IPv4Mixed: PTP messages at this instance are mapped at
the IP frame, that is, synchronization is done in layer 3
communication environments. PTP messages in the
network are received as unicast and multicast messages;
IPv4Mixed: PTP messages at this instance are mapped at
the IP frame, that is, synchronization is done in layer 3
communication environments. PTP messages in the
network are received as unicast messages;
VLAN Tag Enable: enable using only C-tagged PTP messages at
o
the instance. Checkbox selected means only C-tagged PTP frames
will be accepted, and checkbox empty means only untagged PTP
frames will be accepted at the instance;
