Mirroring Settings

Remote Mirroring Function is only allowed when connection between source switch to another one is at an electrical port (UTP
cables and RJ45 connectors).
Be sure that management port is not used to receive mirrored data. Mirror port cannot operate as communication port, and it
will only show traffic of mirrored port.
REASON SWITCHES-TM-EN-3
Mirroring allows the switch to mirror all traffic or one direction traffic (RX or TX
frames) at a given port to another one. This function is useful when traffic analysers
are used, as it can be configured to mirror many ports' traffic to only one port, where
the traffic analyser is connected. This port is mostly used for diagnostics purposes as
described before. When a port is receiving traffic mirrored from another port it will
not operate, that is, port will only be used to receive mirrored traffic. Mirroring
function can be executed at ports in the same switch (local mirroring) or in different
switches (remote mirroring). Reason Switches allows using remote mirroring function,
but Reflector port (the main source port at the remote mirroring network) must be
electrical Ethernet ports (ports with RJ45 connector from a UTP cable).
Ports in mirroring function can be set as Source ports, Intermediate ports and
Destination port. A source port is the port that traffic should be mirrored (data
source). Destination port is the port that will show (mirror) traffic from the source port.
Finally, Intermediate port is a port that is located in a switch which does not have
source ports, that is, mirroring is done from a port from one switch to a given port at
another switch. Thus, intermediate port is sending data from the switch where
source port is located and receiving data at the switch where destination port is
located. If more than two switches are used, intermediate ports will be the ports to
link the switches.
Mirroring menu is located at Settings
