PTP Settings

T1000, S2020 and S2024G switches do not support external clock output. Thus, these configurations do not take effect.
REASON SWITCHES-TM-EN-3
Precision Time Protocol is an Ethernet protocol that allows IED equipment being
synchronized to a master throughout the Ethernet connection medium. Thus,
synchronization is performed at the same automation network, and no separated
network is required as it is with IRIG-B signals, for instance.
PTP menu is located at Settings
PTP External Clock Mode:
This menu allows configuring external clock parameters to be output by the switch.
Possible configurations are as follows.
One_PPS_Mode: enable PTP output at the 1 PPS (pulse-per-second)
o
output. Enable will allow the function to be operating and Disable
will disable the pulse-per-second output function;
External Enable: enable external clock output. Enable will allow the
o
function to be operating and Disable will disable the external
output function;
Adjust Method: indicates external clock adjustment method to be
o
applied. Possible values are as follows:
o
PTP Clock configuration:
This menu allows configuring PTP clock parameters to be applied at the PTP network.
Reason Switches allows creating up to 4 clock instances at the same switch.
PTP.
LTC Frequency: enable external clock adjustment to be
done by Local Timer Counter frequency control;
SyncE-DPLL: enable external clock adjustment to be done
by the SyncE DPLL frequency control;
Oscillator: enable external clock adjustment to be done
by an independent from SyncE oscillator, if the hardware
of the switch has support to;
LTC phase: enable external clock adjustment to be done
by the Local Timer Counter phase control, assuming that
frequency is locked by SyncE;
