Installing the NEC Storage NS420
This chapter describes how to make cable connections, power, and setup the Network
Attached Storage.
Selecting a site, unpacking the Network Attached Storage, or installing the rack-mount
Network Attached Storage is described in the NS420 User Guide.
Connect the Disk Expansion Unit (DEU) to the controller (Optional)
One LSI MegaRAID card is used to control the internal disks. If you only add one
optional DEU, you can connect it to the second channel of the LSI MegaRAID card. Do
not connect your Disk Expansion Unit to the port 0 that is used for the internal SCSI
chain.
To connect a second or a third DEU, you need an optional LSI RAID controller.
Connect the DEU to this optional controller using the cables provided with the DEU.
