SCALING
FACTOR
(Cycle 11)
Application
This cycle allows you to increase
or reduce the size of contours
within
a
program,
such as for shrinkage
or finishing
allowances.
-
Activation
A scaling factor becomes
effective as soon as the cycle is defined
Scaling factors can be applied
in the working
plane, or to all three coordinate
axes at the same time
l
(depending
on MP7410)
l
to the dimensions
in cycles
l
also in the parallel axes U, V, W
The scaling factor is indicated
in the status display with SCL.

Input data
The cycle is defined by entering
the scaling factor SCL. The TNC multi-
plies the coordinates
and radii by the SCL factor (as described
under
"Activation"
above).
To increase the size:
enter SCL greater than 1 (max. 99.999 999)
To reduce the size:
enter SCL less than 1 (down to 0.000 001)
Cancellation
To cancel a scaling factor, enter a scaling factor of 1.
Prerequisite
8-66
Before entering
a scaling factor it is advisable
to set the datum to an
edge or corner of the contour.
