Configuring an aggregate interface

Perform the following configurations on an aggregate interface:

Configuring the description of an aggregate interface or subinterface

Configuring the MTU of a Layer 3 aggregate interface or subinterface
Specifying a card to process or forward traffic for a Layer 3 aggregate interface
Enabling link state traps for an aggregate interface
Shutting down an aggregate interface
In addition to the preceding configurations, most of the configurations that can be performed on Layer 2
or Layer 3 Ethernet interfaces can also be performed on Layer 2 or Layer 3 aggregate interfaces.

Configure the description of an aggregate interface for administration purposes such as describing the
purpose of the interface.

Changing the aggregation priority of a
port may affect the aggregation state of
ports in the dynamic aggregation group.

port is the long timeout interval (30
seconds).
