Electrical installation

12.1.6.1
Important notes
Danger of injury through electrocution!
Injuries can be sustained through electrocution during the mounting and commissioning of
the AX8000 multi-axis servo system.
WARNING
The installation may only be carried out by trained and qualified technical personnel who
are well-versed in electrical and automation technology. Furthermore, the national accident
prevention regulations must be adhered to.
Take the following measures to avert danger:
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Before starting work, read the section For your safety [} 13] carefully.
• Place the electrical environment (servo drive, control cabinet, etc.) in a safe, voltage-
free state.
ð Remove all relevant mains fuses.
ð Turn off the main switch and secure it against being turned on again.
ð Put up a warning sign.
• The control and power connections for the motors may be live, even if the motor is pre-
vented from rotating by the internal brake.
12.1.6.2
Connection the brake resistor
Remove the two screws (1) and remove the cover (2) in direction of the arrow. Connect an adequately
dimensioned cable (see chapter: Cables [} 63]) to the connections (3) of the resistor and the earthing stud
(5) and take it out of the terminal box through the strain-relief assembly (9). Ensure adequate strain relief
with the two screws (8). Connect the other end of the cable to terminal X01 on the AX86xx supply module.
Connect the earthing cable to the earthing conductor of the control cabinet.
Install the cover (2) in reverse order.
