TROUBLESHOOTING

Battery is damaged or weak

1. Remove the battery (page 15-4).
Check the batterv condition usin(l the rec-
ommended battery tester.
RECOMMENDED BATTERY TESTER:
BM-210-AH, BM-210. or EATERY MATE
2.
Install the battery (page 15-41.
Check t h e battery current leakage (Leak
test: page 15-5).
SPECIFIED CURRENT LEAKAGE:
0.1 rnA rnax.
Correct
3. Check the alternator charging coil (page
15-71.

STANDARD: 0.1 1.0
4. Measure and record the battery voltage
using a digital multimeter (page 15-4).
Start the engine.
Measure the charging voltage (page 15-51.
Compare the measurement to result of the
following calculation.

5. Perform the regulator/rectifier wire harness
inspection (page 15-61.
