5 DeltaSphere Color Setup

The DeltaSphere color option enables capturing color images for creating photorealistic, full
color 3D models – as well as for capturing high quality color images of the scanned scenes.

5.1 Color Option Hardware

5.1.1 Components

The DeltaSphere color option includes the following components:

5.1.2 Mounting the Camera

The camera mount has two pieces: a receiver that permanently mounts to the DeltaSphere-3000,
and a camera bracket that slides into the receiver and attaches to the camera's tripod mount.

DeltaSphere-3000 3D Scene Digitizer
A high-quality digital camera – the FUJIFILM FinePix S2 Pro.
A wide-angle lens – a Nikon Nikkor 14mm lens.
Note: Older versions of the DeltaSphere used a different camera and lens.
A camera-mount for the DeltaSphere-3000. (If you ordered the color option at the
same time as the DeltaSphere it will arrive with the base of the camera mount
already installed.)
A camera-mount thumbscrew for locking the camera to the camera mount.
Software for controlling the camera and DeltaSphere-3000, and for mapping color
image data to point clouds.
Note: This section describes the camera mount that began shipping in April,
2004. Prior versions used a different mount.
