For example, if objects of interest or the limits of a room are definitely within 20ft. (240 inches),
and you are scanning at 13.333 with a speed of 8, set the Max Range to 455 – the smallest
number larger than 240. (If you choose 185, points beyond 185 inches would have truncated
range. Choosing 985 would needlessly give up some precision.)

4.3.2 Using the Pan Controls

With the Pan controls, you can quickly and easily aim the scanner and specify the horizontal
field-of-view of the DeltaSphere-3000. To use the Pan controls, you must first connect to the
DeltaSphere-3000 as described at the beginning of this section. This enables the controls shown
in Figure 21.
Interactive Motion Controls
The arrow controls are used to interactively rotate the DeltaSphere-3000; the buttons pointing
left will rotate the scanner counterclockwise (forward; the direction it scans) and those on the
right clockwise (reverse) with the actions described below:
The Heading box will display the current horizontal heading in degrees.

Rotate the DeltaSphere-3000 5° counterclockwise (a +5° rotation; will
automatically stop at +360°)
Rotate the DeltaSphere-3000 -5° clockwise (a -5° rotation; will automatically stop
at -360°)
Rotate the DeltaSphere-3000 counterclockwise until the stop button is selected
(Will automatically stop at +185°)
Rotate the DeltaSphere-3000 clockwise until the stop button is selected (Will
automatically stop at -185°)
Stop rotation.
Note: Make sure that the cables to the DeltaSphere (DeltaSphere power,
Ethernet, 1394 and Camera power) have enough slack for the system to rotate.
Set Min – Transfers the current Heading to the min Horiz FOV box on the left.
