Removing the drive shaft

1. Loosen the pinion nut.
Drive shaft holder 6 1:
90890-06520
Pinion nut holder 2:
90890-06715
2. Remove the pinion nut 3, pinion 4,
drive shaft housing 5, thrust bearing 6,
pinion shim(s) 7, drive shaft 8, sleeve
9 from lower case.

3. Pull out the forward gear.

Disassembling the drive shaft
housing
1. Remove the cover, oil seals, and needle
bearing.

Needle bearing attachment 1:
90890-06610
Driver rod L3 2: 90890-06652

Disassembling the forward gear

1. Remove the taper roller beaning from the
forward gear using a press.

Do not reuse the bearing, always replace
it with a new one.
