5. Measure the brush length. Replace if
below specification limit.
Brush standard length:
9.8 mm (0.39 in)
Wear limit f:
4.8 mm (0.19 in)
6. Check the base. Replace if cracked or
damaged.
7. Check the bearing and oil seal. Replace
if damaged or worn.

Checking the filter

1. Check gear pump filter 1. Clean if there
is dirt or residue.

Assembling the PTT motor

1. Connect the PTT motor leads 1, and
then tighten the screws 2.
2. Install the spring and push the brushes 3
into the brush holder, and then install the
armature 4.
3. Install the stator 5 onto the base.
NOTE:
Place a clean cloth over the end of the arma-
ture shaft, hold it with a pair of pliers, and
then carefully slide the stator over the arma-
ture.
