Removing the drive shaft and
forward gear
NOTE:
Shimming is required when the forward gear
or taper roller bearing is replaced.
1. Loosen the pinion nut.

Drive shaft holder 1 1:
90890-06515
2. Remove the pinion gear, shim, thrust
bearing, and washer, then remove the
drive shaft.
3. Remove the bearing housing, gasket,
shift rod and dowel pins.

4. Remove the drive shaft sleeve.
5. Remove the forward gear.

Disassembling the lower case

1. Remove the taper roller bearing outer
race.

NOTE:
Install the puller claw as shown.
Stopper guide plate 1:

2. Remove the needle bearing.
